Utah has received an additional $2.6 million federal grant to help combat crime and violence at state and local levels.

The state plans to use the money to support multi-jurisdictional task forces, financial investigations, gang enforcement, alternatives to incarceration and improvement of justice records, according to members of the state's congressional delegation.The money comes through the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Formula Grant Program. The state also received $1.4 million through the program earlier in the year.
