A restored 1902 steam fire engine will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hall No. 3 at the Salt Palace as part of Utah's centennial celebrations.

Following the dedication, the steamer will be drawn by horses to 400 W. South Temple, where it and other antique fire equipment will be used in a historical re-enactment of techniques used to put out a fire, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers said.At 9 a.m. Sunday, the fire engine will participate in a "grudge match" at 400 W. South Temple against an 1877 Clapp and Jones Steam Fire Engine from Woodland, Calif. That competition will continue until 4 p.m.
