Dora Dunyon Miller, passed away at home on June 21, 1996, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born December 21, 1905 to loving parents, Effie Fitzgerald and Joy W. Dunyon in Salt Lake City. Married Alvin Smith Nelson in 1943, he preceded her in death. Married Clyde Allen Miller in Salt Lake Temple in 1978. Her sweet Clyde passed away in 1989. After her graduation from the University of Utah, Dora spent many years in the educational system as a library science teacher at Oquirrh and Nibley Park Elementary Schools. She was active in the LDS Church and held many positions in both the ward and stake, including a call as a stake missionary. Dora enjoyed singing and at one time was a member of the Tabernacle Choir. She also enjoyed traveling and in her later years traveled extensively throughout the world. Dora will be welcomed by those she loved that have already passed on including her brother, Joy F. Dunyon and her son, Alvin D. Nelson.Survived by her daughter, Doralee (Dwayne) Freebairn; grandchildren Sean and Traci Freebairn; step children and step grandchildren from her marriage to Clyde.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 1996, 1:30 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., where friends may call Monday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in Dora's name to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 455 East 400 South, S.L.C., Utah 84104. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
