Dr. J. Charles Rich Jr. has been elected president of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Rich, who is in private practice in Salt Lake City, also heads the neurological surgery division of LDS Hospital.An active member of the AANS since 1975, Rich has been the organization's secretary, chaired its strategic planning committee, headed the task force on orthopedic relations and chaired its membership committee. He has been on the board of directors since 1991.
Rich earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and served his internship in general surgery at Johns Hopkins University.
