Lagoon is not for sale, and Six Flags or any another amusement park chain is not involved in any negotiations to purchase the 110-year-old historic park, Lagoon officials said Thursday.
"We're not sure how the rumor was started, but Lagoon is not for sale," Dick Andrew, marketing and public relations director for Lagoon, said. "There has never been any discussions or negotiations with anyone."Rumors of a Lagoon sale to Six Flags started as much as two years ago, but they surfaced again this spring - stronger than ever.
"We are proud to be part of Utah's history," Andrew said. "We are looking forward to the next 110 years with continued expansion."
Lagoon is the Intermountain area's largest entertainment center and the biggest amusement park between Kansas City and the West Coast.
