Theodore Jacobsen, president of Jacobsen Construction in Salt Lake City, has been named chairman of the board of the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii.
Dee Andersen, mission president of the Hawaii Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and former administrative vice president of Brigham Young University, was named vice chairman.The two replace Elder Dallin H. Oaks and Elder Joseph P. Wirthlin, members of the LDS Quorum of the Twelve.
Jacobsen joined Jacobsen Construction in 1966 and has held various positions there including vice president. He did value engineering for the Utah Department of Transportation/Public Safety complex, hospitals and high schools.
Andersen is a certified public accountant who has worked in retail and service companies as well as at BYU.
