James R. Wilson, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Thiokol Corp., has been appointed to the board of directors of First Security Corp., according to Spencer F. Eccles, First Security chairman and chief executive officer.
"Mr. Wilson brings more than 30 years of financial and managerial experience to the First Security board. He has served for several years on the Northern Utah Advisory Board of First Security Bank and provided unique wisdom and guidance to our retail and business banking operations," said Eccles.Wilson was Thiokol's chief financial officer from 1989 to 1993 and was president and CEO from 1993 to 1995, before adding the title of chairman. Before joining Thiokol, Wilson was chief financial officer of Fairchild Industries Inc.,
Washington, D.C.; Circuit City Stores, Richmond, Va.; and the Wickes Companies, San Diego.
In addition to serving on the board of directors of Rohr Inc., a Fortune 500 aerospace company, Wilson serves on the board of governors of the National Space Club and the Aerospace Industries Association and is a member of the board of trustees of Manufacturers Alliance.
