One of the sweetest people in the world, Leah Olson Nelson, passed away August 8, 1996 at South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born August 16, 1911 to John E. and Clara Olson in Logan, Utah. She married Ray J. Nelson, former editor of the Logan Herald Journal in 1932. Ray died in Salt Lake City in November 1988.After raising her children, Leah returned to college and graduated from Utah State University in 1979. She taught special education at Sky View High School for several years before moving to Salt Lake City after retirement of her husband in 1986. She was a long time member of the Logan 8th Ward and enjoyed friendships made through the Cosmo Club. She also enjoyed flow gardening, especially roses and was a superb wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; a calling that she valued above all others.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Alan (Gwen) Nelson, Fairfax, Virginia; Dr. J. Kent (Carole) Nelson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Vern Lee (Patricia) Nelson, Boise, Idaho; Sue Ann (Ronald Kent) Abbott, Pleasant Grove, Utah; her sister, Ollie Jean Mochal, Seattle, Washington and brother, Dr. John "Jack" (Eileen) Olson, Jr., Upland, California; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a precious son, Larry Don in addition to her husband.

Family and Friends may pay last respects at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St., Logan, Utah from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 1996 with graveside services and burial following at the Logan City Cemetery at 12 noon.
