Jakomina Venema Bekker, 84, died August 15, 1996 at the Logan Regional Hospital.
Born in Groningen, Holland on April 28, 1912, to Henderikus and Wilhelmina Udding Bekker, Jakomina was one of three children. She married John William Bekker on September 26, 1934 in Rotterdam, Holland. John passed away in 1978.Jakomina immigrated to the United States in 1953 and has lived in Salt Lake City, Idaho, and Logan. She enjoyed antiques of all types and owned an operated an antiquarian book dealership with her husband. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church.
Jokamina is survived by three children; Truus Eaves, Antioch, Calif.; Henk (Carol) Bekker, Hyde Park; and John Bekker, Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, John; one brother, one sister, and one son-in-law.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 19, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue N St. Friends may gather 30 minutes prior to the services at the cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home, Logan.
