Paul Carroll Seegmiller, age 97, died August 24, 1996, while visiting his daughter in Farmington, Utah.

He was born March 14, 1899, in Kanab, Utah, to Daniel and Emma Carroll Seegmiller. He married Edith Sproul on June 12, 1923, in the St. George LDS Temple.Mr. Seegmiller was a kind, patient, humble and loving man. He was born in Kane County where he received his elementary education. He later attended the BAC Branch Agriculture College in Cedar City, Utah, for two years.

Paul has lived in Kanab, Orderville, Cedar City, Las Vegas and St. George. He worked as City Marshall in St. George for six years and also worked for the St. George City Power Plant for 11 years. While in Las Vegas, he worked as a landscape gardener for 11 years at the Desert Inn Hotel.

Paul enjoyed the outdoors and always maintained a beautiful garden which was weed free. He also enjoyed fishing and community sports events up until he was 97 years old. He and Mrs. Seegmiller were active members of the LDS Church, having served as LDS Temple workers for over 30 years. Paul especially loved his beautiful wife, Edith. Together they recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.

Survivors include his wife, Edith of St. George, Utah; children, Paul D. and wife Lila Seegmiller of Layton, Utah; Foy A. and wife Marie Seegmiller of India; Mrs. Blaine "Fayone" Whitehead of New Harmony, Utah; Mrs. Merlin "Tana" Sullivan of Leeds, Utah; Mrs. Grant "Clo" Jensen of St. George; Mrs. Gordon "Diane" Peterson of Farmington, Utah; Mrs. Kent "VanDyne" Wilson of Hurricane, Utah; Mrs. Edward "Janet" Gubler of La Verkin, Utah; Mrs. Douglas "Linda Gail" Beatty of Kaysville, Utah; 55 grandchildren, 160 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 1996, 2 p.m. in the St. George 13th Ward Chapel, 166 South Main Street. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 58 North 100 East, and at the chapel on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George Cemetery under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 673-2454.
