Actor Jan-Michael Vincent, former star of TV's "Airwolf," suffered a broken neck after he drove into his girlfriend's Cadillac, lost control of his car and struck a traffic signal, police in Mission Viejo, Calif., said.
Vincent, who has a history of substance abuse, may have been driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he crashed Monday afternoon, police said.Vincent was listed in very critical condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center Tuesday morning.
The 52-year-old actor was following his girlfriend, Nicole Wallace, 28, to her mother's house when he slammed his 1988 Mazda into the back of her 1985 Cadillac.
Authorities said Wallace and her two sons, ages 5 and 6, were not hurt.
Vincent was in the mini-series "The Winds of War," and most recently co-starred in the low-budget 1995 film, "The Ice Cream Man."
