Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 83, Monday, August 26, 1996 after a gallant battle with diabetes and congestive heart failure.

She died in her home in Salt Lake City, as she requested, surrounded by her devoted husband Alma and her four children.Born November 20, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Sarah Winter Bacon.

Bessie and Alma were married November 30, 1929; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) and served in various church capacities. She was also active with her husband in Retired Eagles Activity Club as well as the East Millcreek Lions, and was a charter member of the Beehive Chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.

She will be missed dearly by her three daughters, LaRae of Denver, Colo., Carole (Mont) Rasmusson, Lynne McRae and son Len Orullian, all of Salt Lake City. In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter and sister, Alice Hawthorne of Murray, Utah

Donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, in care of the Utah Council, 445 East 4500 South, Murray, UT 84107.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, August 29, 1996 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call on Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
