Our dear father, Ronald Lynn Monson, returned to his Heavenly Home on August 6, 1996.
He was born April 30, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Ferdinand and Ivy Gertrude Hunsaker Monson.Due to congenital handicaps, he endured many trials, pain and hardships during his life, but shared his sense of humor, math expertise, automobile vacations and resources with family and friends. His generous spirit touched many lives.
He was educated in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High, then completed two years of accounting studies at LDS Business College. He married Ellen Turner in the Salt Lake Temple in 1954. They were later divorced. He worked for the State of California and Utah State Tax Commission.
Music was one his loves: playing the guitar, singing songs and hymns and accompanying himself on the piano by ear were favorite pastimes. He loved animals and the out-of-doors.
Ronald is survived by his children: Jana (Perry) Bratt, Pleasant Grove; Dale (Sue) Monson, Magna; David (Tedi) Monson, Alpine; Jay (Shellie) Monson, Pleasant Grove; Cami (Gene) Piche, Tampa, Florida; Kyrk (Suzanne) Monson, Orem; Angelee (David) Pearson, Provo; a brother, Leon Monson, Payson; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Darrel and Eldon and a sister, Carol.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 1996, 2 p.m., at Harbor Park Ward, 2225 West 620 North, Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center St., Friday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday morning one hour prior to services. Interment, Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
