A day after a woman was found dead in her Magna home, neighbors are still speculating on what happened.

Thursday, police suspected foul play in the death of Jamie Weiss, 18, who was found dead Wednesday morning by her live-in boyfriend's sister in the bathtub of her trailer home, 3769 S. 8500 West. An autopsy report Wednesday indicated head trauma before the apparent drowning. But county sheriff's investigating officers at the scene Thursday evening said the evidence does not point to anyone in particular.

"We really don't know where it's going," said a homicide detective who refused to give his name.

"There's nothing that says he did it," he said. "We have nothing that points to any one person," he said. "At this point, we're running like chickens with their heads cut off."

Meanwhile, entrance into the single trailer unit has been taped off. According to neighbor Misty Griego, Weiss was three-months pregnant and scheduled to be married in about three days.

Weiss' 2-year-old son is living with Weiss' grandmother in West Valley City.

Weiss is also survived by her mother, who lives in Portland, Ore.

Few of the neighbors were acquainted with Weiss and her boy-friend.

"I didn't even know her name," said a neighbor who identified herself as Alexandra. "They kept to themselves."

Others remember Weiss as a petite but strikingly beautiful young woman.

"I wish I'd known her better, but all I ever said was hi," said next-door neighbor Yvonne Pehrson.

Danielle Peterson said she didn't know Weiss' name until after her death.

"I just would see her walk down to the mailbox and back with her little boy," she said. "Everybody around here thought (Weiss and her boyfriend) were married. She was constantly with him.'

But things weren't always as quiet at the couple's home.

"When was home, there were a lot more people there," Pehrson said. "There were many cars stopping by."

All the neighbors interviewed remember an incident last July 23 when a blonde woman pounded on the couple's door threatening to injure and kill them. There are also rumors that a blonde woman was stalking Weiss.

"A lot has been said about how (Weiss and her boyfriend) fought a lot," said Pehrson's husband, Wallace.

Police said, however, that Weiss' grandmother and other family members, including some cousins who live in Utah, were aware of no problems that the couple was having.
