Hounded by the celebrity press since his poolside tryst with a stripper, the unfaithful husband of Princess Stephanie of Monaco reportedly has fled to North Africa.
RTL Radio said Thursday that Daniel Ducruet was in hiding in Morocco, trying to dodge the paparazzi who took steamy photos of his adulterous interlude last month with the reigning Miss Nude Belgium.Stephanie, youngest daughter of Prince Rainier III and the late American screen star Grace Kelly, said through her lawyer this week that she intends to divorce Du-cru-et, her former bodyguard.
The affair has scandalized the French Riviera principality and the Grimaldi dynasty, which next year celebrates 700 years of rule.
"APOCALYPSE MONACO," the Paris newspaper France-Soir blared in a front-page headline Thursday about the reported divorce, the talk of the town in the French capital.
Italian magazines broke the scandal Aug. 28, publishing 40 pages of explicit photos showing Ducruet, 32, cavorting naked at a private villa outside Monaco with Fili Houteman, 26.
RTL said the photos cost $200,000. It didn't say whether Houteman profited from what is being widely reported as a setup to discredit Ducruet.
