Kevin Costner, the Duchess of York and Michael Caine appeared Saturday at the opening of a Beijing club with a membership fee more than 30 times the annual salary of the typical Chinese worker.

Sarah Ferguson and Costner visited the Great Wall before attending the club opening."China's one place I've always wanted to see," said Costner. "It's a big mystery here."

Hong Kong businessman David Tang formed the China Club in a huge mansion that was renovated at a cost of $8 million.

The club's membership fee is $15,000 with a $100 monthly charge. The average income for city people in China was around $470 last year.
