A couple of family festivals are scheduled to happen in the area.

- PARK CITY will host the Zions Bank Park City Days, "A Step Back in Time," at the Park City Ski Area's Marigold Plaza Saturday. The festival officially kicks off with a "Silver Streak" 10K run, steeplechase race and a kid's run at 8:30 a.m.A miners breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The festival will also offer a "Stake Your Claim" treasure hunt from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that will feature free gifts such as real silver bars, coins and jewelry.

Music and other entertainment will continue through the day at the Park City Ski resort and the city's historic Main Street. Visitors will also get to experience what it was like going 1,500 feet into the original Ontario Mine Shaft during tours that will run all day starting at 10 a.m.

Food, barrel-making, story-telling, silver panning and a fireworks show are also scheduled. For more information, call Nikki Lowry at (801) 649-6100.

- THE RED BUTTE GARDEN AND ARBORETUM'S annual Autumn Festival and Harvest sale is Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A farmer's market, willow-chair making, decorative gourd art, garden sale and childrens' activities will highlight the event. Entertainment will feature members of the Intermountain Acoustic Music As-sociation, a contra dance and story-telling.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children 4 and older, students and senior citizens. Garden members will be admitted for free.

Patrons are encouraged to use the amphitheater gate entrance by traveling east through Fort Douglas or the Cottam Visitor Center entrance, 300 Wakara Way. For more information call 581-IRIS (4747).
