Dan Reeves, the winningest active coach in the NFL, was hired today by the Atlanta Falcons as their coach and head of football operations.

Reeves, who was fired by the New York Giants at the end of the season, succeeds June Jones and is to be introduced at a news conference Tuesday.The Falcons said Reeves signed a five-year deal that that includes the title of executive vice president of football operations.
