A man who tortured and murdered two teachers during a 1985 robbery at their house blew kisses to an unidentified crying woman just before he was executed by injection early Wednesday.
In his last words, Eric Schneider remembered his 2-year-old son."I love my son and my wife. I lived my life by music," he said. Schneider fathered the child while on death row.
Lying on a gurney with a white sheet pulled to his chin, the 35-year-old Schneider raised his head and blew two kisses to an unidentified crying woman, who along with three others, was watching through a glass window.
Schneider was condemned for the January 1985 killings of Richard Schwendeman and Ronald Thompson during a robbery at their lakeside home about 25 miles southwest of St. Louis. Thompson was stabbed 15 times, and Schwendeman was shot twice.
