Norma Jean Ence Chamberlain, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, January 5, 1997 after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born December 31, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wilford and Jessie R. Ence. She married the love of her life J. Bevan Chamberlain on September 1, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She would often talk of her perfect marriage. Norma and Bevan loved their children. As a family they loved to work together, play together and lived life to its fullest.She had a great love for music and was an outstanding pianist and accompanist who freely shared her talents. She sang in many groups. She instilled the love of music in her family which filled their lives and others with joy. Norma had a unique way of drawing people to her and becoming an important part of their lives as they were in her's. Her attitude was always positive even through this last ordeal.
She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She devoted her entire life to serving others. Her callings included Stake and Ward Primary presidencies, Relief Society president, Young Women's president, ward organist and Primary Chorister. She especially loved her calling as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survived by her husband, Bevan; children, Carol (Dennis) Wilkinson, Sandy; Janet (Stuart) Wilkinson, Logan; Mark (Karen) Chamberlain, South Jordan; Gail (Ted) Hanson, Riverton; Julie (Mike) Clayson, Seattle; 22 grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Wilford; mother. Jessie; sisters, Dorothy and Lavon; brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 1997 at 12 noon at the Grant Sixth Ward, 3487 South 1300 East. Friends may call Wednesday evening, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South and Thursday at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
