Death: Douglas W. Allmond

Douglas Wilson Allmond, age 79, died October 14, 1997 at his home in Rose Park.

He was born September 4, 1918 in Logan, Utah to Sara Jensen and Joseph Wilson Allmond. Married Margaret Elizabeth Beck on September 18, 1942 and solemnized December 27, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on October 29, 1996.

oDoug's first love was his devoted wife, Margaret and family. Also he had a never-ending perseverance for the search of knowledge of World War I and World War II aircraft history. All of his projects at home or otherwise were an example of the perfectionist he was and the standard of excellence he pursued. He had a special affection to his friends and war heroes at the Veterans Hospital. Veteran of World War II and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Connie Taylor (Greg), Sandy, UT; Jeannie Woodfin (Dave), Salt Lake; Michael S. Allmond, West Valley City, UT; and Richard D. Allmond, Salt Lake; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Josephine Potts, Salt Lake.

Graveside services Friday, October 17, at 12 Noon, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, under direction of Larkin Mortuary.
