Annie Denver says her ex-husband didn't fear flying, even after a crash in 1989.

"John was pretty fearless," she said Wednesday night on the CBS program "Public Eye with Bryant Gumbel.""What I'd like people to know is John wasn't afraid to die," said Denver, who lives in Aspen, Colo., with the couple's two children. "He really lived his life 100 percent. And, you know, there aren't a lot of people who do that."

John Denver died Sunday when the plane he was piloting crashed off the northern California coast. His first wife was the inspiration for his 1974 "Annie's Song," but she says it wasn't her favorite.

"I still cry when I hear it, but my favorite song is one called `Perhaps Love' that he did with Placido Domingo."
