Cyrus "Cy" Monroe Manwill, age 79, of Richfield, was killed in a fatal accident on October 26, 1997 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was born February 8, 1918 in Koosharem, Utah, a son of Franklin Monroe and Mary Ann Sorenson Manwill. He married Mary Wanda Brown November 16, 1938 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple May 21, 1941. Cy was a prominent local rancher and cattleman, and a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cy was a kind and gentle man and devoted to his church and his family. His life was full and rich and he will be greatly missed by all.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda, of Richfield; one daughter, Gena and her husband, Gary Coleman, of Richfield; one niece, Flora Jean and her husband, John A. Garcia, Albuquerque, New Mexico; foster daughter, Rose and her husband, Brent Christensen of Annabella; foster sons: Calvin Tisi, Orem and Cyrus Merchant, Richfield; grandchildren: Jamie and Michael Jolley, Kenley, Lacee and Shayleena Coleman, all of Richfield; Bryce and Brianna Garcia of Albuquerque; Cherlotta, Cresta Belle, Sjon, Jamison and Carson Christensen, all of Annabella; Whitney and Jennifer Tisi, Orem; Harley Merchant, Richfield; one great-grandson, Jaren Scott Jolley, Richfield; three brothers, Wallace Manwill, Koosharem; Don Manwill, Riverside, California; Marion Manwill, Payson; sister, Libby Brindley, Koosharem. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Willis Manwill and Frank Manwill, one sister, Leda Keifer and one great-grandson, Jared Carl Jolly.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 1997 at 12 noon in the Richfield 1st and 11th LDS Ward Chapel located at 985 South 400 West in Richfield, with Bishop Blaine Michaelsen of the Richfield 10th Ward officiating. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday eve. 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel, Friday morning from 10 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the direction of Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
