Primary won't be needed for Eagle Mountain races

The young town of Eagle Mountain will not need to hold a primary election, according to City Recorder Janet Valentine.

Four candidates have filed for the two open four-year council positions, including incumbents Cyril Watt and John Jacob plus two-year council incumbent Nick Berg and challenger Dan Valentine.Candidates for the two two-year seats are incumbent Diane Bradshaw, Jack Guthrie, Rob Bateman and Allen R. Thompson.

Mayor Debbie Hooge is running unopposed.

Earlier election stories listed Valentine as a two-year council candidate, putting five people in that race. That would have required Eagle Mountain to hold a primary.
