Nick A. Yerkovich, 81, died peacefully at home in Midvale, Utah on November 14, 1997.

He was born on April 7, 1916 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Mike and Jennie Mimica Yerkovich. He grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming and moved his family to Utah in 1959 to further his career as a highly skilled machinist. His ability to complete his work at an unusually high level of precision set him apart from others in his trade.Nick had a passionate love for nature and the outdoors which was exemplified by the log cabin he built in the Bridger National Wilderness Area in Wyoming. His favorite activity was to go trout fishing in the nearby lakes and streams. He loved sports especially basketball, and was an avid supporter of Judge Memorial High School and the Utah Jazz. While the trout in Wyoming will be relieved to learn of his departure, his family and friends will miss him dearly.

Survived by his wife, Emma, who he nicknamed "Sunshine,"; sons, Jim (Betty) and Neil (Kathleen); grandchildren, Noel, Mary Chris, John and Bret; and great-grandchild, Ian.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 75 E. Lennox (7850 So.) Midvale. A vigil service will be held Monday 7 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E. 100 So., where friends may visit Monday 6-7 p.m. Committal service, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave. and T St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Judge Memorial Athletics, 650 So. 1100 E., Salt Lake City, UT 84102
