Grace Marie Collins Potter was born on March 20, 1923 to Andrew Boyd and Gertrude Saunders Collins on the Collins Ranch near Sams, San Miguel County, Colorado. She died on November 19, 1997 at Cottonwood Hospital, Murray, Utah, surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She married James LaVerne Potter on May 20, 1940 in Reno, Nevada. She was employed as a cashier for 40 years at Allied Development Co., Murray, Utah. She loved music, loved to sing and yodel, and played a mean ragtime and country-and-western piano by ear.She was preceded in death by her sister, Ollie Fern Collins Morss; her brother, Everett Franklin Collins, and her husband, James LaVerne Potter.

She is survived by her four children; Darryl LaVerne Potter, Sandy, UT; Jeanie Potter Reynolds, Salt Lake City, UT; Larry Vale (Linda) Potter, Ferron, UT; Karl V. Potter and Vicki Cahoon, West Jordan, UT; also survived by her brother, Charles Dee Collins, Montrose, CO; by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Darryn Scott Potter, Alec Reynolds, Mimi Reynolds, Stacy Ekker Backus, Travis Voi Potter, Trenna Lynn Cigarroa, Venessa Renee Potter, and Brian James Potter; Craig Coby Sanchez, Ashlee Victoria Potter, Preston Nathaniel Potter, Alexis Ann Marie Potter, and Andrew James Cigarroa. She is also survived by numerous Colorado-born nephews and nieces and their families, all of whom she deeply loves and who deeply love her.

Funeral services Monday, November 24, 1997, at 2 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State where friends may call from 12 Noon to time of service. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.

She is loved by all for her ceaseless caring, her generosity and compassion, and for her truly remarkable inner strength. In lieu of flowers, bring your love.
