Glen A. Christensen, age 86, died at his home in Springville, Utah.

He was born in Salem, Utah, son of James P. and Effie Stone Christensen. Very early in life he gained a strong work ethic by helping at his Father's store and on the family farm. He attended schools in Salem, and then graduated from Spanish Fork High School.After completing two years at Brigham Young University, he served an LDS mission in Florida. When he returned, he enrolled again at BYU, and graduated in 1936.

He married Ina Huff on January 26, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple moved to Springville, where he taught math and business classes at Springville High School for six years. He then worked as Office Manager for Thorn Construction Company for 25 years.

Glen was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership positions. He was Bishop of the Fourth Ward, Bishop of the Third Ward, Stake High Councilor, and 1st Councilor in the Kolob and Springville Stake Presidencies for 17 years. Through his sincere and dedicated service he blessed the lives of many.

He loved sports and was a strong proponent of education. All four of his children graduated from Brigham Young University and received post graduate degrees from universities outside the state.

He is survived by his wife, Ina, and four children and their spouses: Mrs. Kay C. Hall (Wendell) of Sacramento, California; Robert G., (Kay F.) of Phoenix, Arizona; Val H. (Jeanne) of Orem, Utah; and Gary J., (Kelly) of Dallas, Texas; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Lucile Smart, Springville, Utah; brothers, Morris S. (Bill) Christensen, Salem, Utah and Wallace Christensen, Salem, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Russell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek 12th Ward, 235 E 550 N, Springville. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville or Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial, Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
