Flames from a blaze in an apartment at the Cedar Springs complex shot 30 feet into the sky Sunday evening.
The fire started about 5:20 p.m. and destroyed one apartment in the 32-unit building before it was brought under control an hour later.Centerville Police Sgt. Paul Child said the apartment was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. No one was inside the unit, but a woman who lived across the hall suffered minor smoke inhalation, he said.
Though the fire broke out in a high-density cluster of buildings at 88 W. 50 South, firefighters from Davis County and Farmington managed to confine the blaze to the apartment where it began.
