A man convicted 19 years ago of raping and chopping off the arms of a 15-year-old California girl won a mistrial here on charges that he killed a prostitute in his home.

The judge declared the mistrial Wednesday for 70-year-old Lawrence Singleton after a potential juror complained his neighbors saw him on television.
