Grace Joos Owens, 87, of Joseph, Utah, passed away December 15, 1997, in Richfield, Utah.

She was born Dec. 18, 1909, in Elsinore, Utah to George and Hessie Sylvester Joos. She married Waldo Morgan Owens, July 23, 1927, in Junction, Utah. The marriage was Solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, November 30, 1939. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1982.Grace was an active member in the LDS Church where she held various callings in the Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, Young Womens, and was a faithful visiting teacher. She also helped organize Camp Clear Creek DUP in Joseph and was Captain for several years and held other offices. She will missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by children, Reta Meacham, Joseph; Joyce and Loyd Knaphus, Richfield; Hal Owens, Joseph; Mack and Karen Owens, Prescott, Ariz; Edward and Barbie Owens, Phoenix, Ariz; Jim and Carol Owens, Ray and Twila Owens, both of Joseph; 36 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Pat Joos, Draper; Dan and Judy Joos, Sunset.

Preceded in death by husband; two infant sons, Thomas Robert Owens and George Owens; sister, Virginia Hill; brothers, Vernon Joos and Garth Joos; son-in-law, LaVor Meacham; granddaughter, Cristi Owens; and parents.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 18, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel in Elsinore. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m .and at the Joseph Ward Chapel in Elsinore from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery.
