The area west of I-15 has traditionally been a great place to hunt. In fact, when the area was annexed into the city limits some years ago, it was stipulated that hunting rights would continue.
However, now with disappearing farms and new residential development, west Kaysville's hunting status is uncertain. The City Council plans to address hunting issues at its Jan. 20 meeting.
Councilman Reed Nelson, who lives on the city's west side, said some police are now telling people they can't hunt in the area.
"It's important. We need to address that issue and settle it," he said.
