Lorus Bateman "Sonny" Pratt died on December 19, 1997 at his home.

Sonny was born on Feb. 9, 1927 to Wanda Bateman and Lorus Francis Pratt. He married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Colleen Kenny in 1946.His love of all sports and the outdoors remained strong throughout his life, with a special love for fishing. He played baseball as a young man and was later inducted into the Utah Baseball Hall of Fame. Sonny will be missed by all those he came in contact with. Over the past few years he has been known by many as the "cake man" because he made and delivered several cakes a week to those that were special to him.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Spratling; 10 children, Joslyne (Robin) Hanson, Jacqueline (Frank) Roberts, Lorus Mark (Kathy), John Matthew (Brenda), Dana Martin, Michael Francis (Katsana), Monty Phillip (Melanie), Morris Kenny (Cherri), James Malyn (Diane), and Mitchell David (Renee); brothers, Ramon and Jerry; sister, Nancy; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, father, sister, brother, and granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary at 11 a.m. at 6500 So. Redwood Rd. on Sat., Dec. 27th where friends may call from 6-8 Friday, Dec. 26th and one hour prior to the services. Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.

The family would like to express their thanks to all those in the medical field that participated in his care over the last two years.
