Janet Young Kelly, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Dec. 29, 1997, peacefully in her sleep from asthmatic bronchitis

Born to Col. Wayne B. and LaVerne Stevenson Young. Col. Young was a member of the Utah National Guard and served in World War II and Korea. Her maternal grandparents were Dr. Hyrum S. Stevenson and Mary Slaughter Stevenson. Mary was on of the first pioneer children born in Southern Utah. Janet graduated from Nuremburg High School in Germany and attended the University of Utah, class of 1960. Member of Delta Gamma sorority. Married Edward J. Kelly Sept. 6, 1958 at Fort Hood, Texas.Survived by husband, Col. Edward Kelly, U.S. Army, retired; children, Mrs. Robert "Anne" Jungk, Denver, CO; Dr. Edward J. Kelly, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Jeffrey "Stephanie" Loosle, Salt Lake City; Luke Stevenson Kelly, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Ashley Nichole and Danielle Marie Loosle, Patrick Ryan Kelly; sister, Shari Lynn Young-Kuchenbecker, PhD, Los Angeles, CA.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 670 South 1100 East. A vigil service will be held Friday, 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6-7 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave and T Street.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Parochial School, 1065 E. 700 South, SLC, UT 84102.
