Scott Norman Daines, Esq. 42, beloved father, son and brother passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997 following liver and renal failure.
Scott was born Nov. 30, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Welden L. and Mary Forsberg Daines. He married Valerie Morrow and is the father to three lovely children, Matthew, Ryan and Sarah. Scott grew up in Bountiful, Utah and attended Viewmont High School and Utah State University, graduating with a degree in Political Science and was a member of the Utah State Rugby Team. President of Utah State Chapter of Sigma Phi Epilson Faternity. He then fulfilled his childhood dream of attending law school. He graduated from the Southwestern School of Law in Los Angeles. CA. He practiced law in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City and was admitted to the bar in both California and Utah. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be remembered for his astute mind, eloquence, humor, candor, and his commitment to his children, his family and his profession. He loved baseball, fishing, and hanging out at the soccer, baseball and football fields watching his children. He took extreme pride in his children and their accomplishments. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. His example and memory will carry on in our hearts and minds forever. God be with you until we meet again and may peace be with you.He is survived by his children, Matthew, Ryan, and Sarah of Monrovia, CA; parents, Welden L. and Mary Daines; brothers, Allyn and Cynthia Daines, Brent and Tearsa Daines, Richard and Andra Daines; grandmother, Margaret H. Forsberg; former wife, Valerie Phillips; 11 nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; friend, Jocey Katz.
Funeral services and interment will be held Friday, Dec. 12th, 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
