Donita Marie Hendrix Griffin, 65, of Escalante, UT, died December 7, 1997 in Panguitch, UT.

She was born, November 4, 1932, to Luther and Luciel Thomas Hendrix in Delhart, Texas. She married Clem Hunter Griffin, January 1, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, December 7, 1953. She served faithfully in many callings in the LDS Church, including Relief Society president of the Murray 11th and the Escalante 2nd Wards. She served as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple. She will long be remembered as an example of great strength and courage by those who knew her.She is survived by her loving husband, Clem; two daughters, Mitzi (Tom) Borovatz and Kelly (Kraig) Lundeberg; nine grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; sister, Ettie Mae Mosher; brother, Luther Hendrix. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert, daughter, Crystle, granddaughter, Colette,and brother, Bill.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 1997 at 1 p.m. in the Escalante 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.

The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Garfield Memorial Hospital and to Donitas many dear friends, for their love and support.
