Erma Sophia Anderson Erickson, age 96, passed away January 31, 1997, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born August 7, 1900, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Edgar Victor and Ann Eliza Dunn Anderson. She married Henry Leroy Erickson on August 20, 1924, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Leroy preceded her in death on September 30, 1996.Attended Granite High School and the University of Utah. Erma was an accomplished accompanist on both the organ and piano. She played for many choirs and soloists and started teaching piano at age 14. She delayed High School one full year so that she could fulfill her desire to give piano instructions on a daily basis. She continued teaching as time was available for many years. Active member of the LDS church, she served as a teacher in several organizations, but because of musical talents, most of her assignments were in that field. She was a member of the East

Mill Creek Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Survived by three sons, Melvin L. (wife Carolyn), Idaho Falls; Douglas V. (wife Mary) and Scott A., of Salt Lake City. A fourth son, Paul Wallace Erickson, passed away in 1983. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen Funk. Preceded in death by two sisters, Afton Wright and Helen Brown.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 4, 1997, 11 a.m., at the East Millcreek First Ward, 2702 East Evergreen Ave (3435 South). Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
