Louis LeGrand Saxton, 83, of Orem, died February 21, 1997, in Salt Lake City.

He was born June 8, 1913, a son of William S. and Annie Johansen Saxton in Upton, Summit Co., Utah. He married Lavina Hamilton June 7, 1935 in Declo, Idaho, she died March 5, 1947. He married Mildred Ball Judd September 15, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple, she died November 7, 1992. Louis was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as ward financial clerk and in the Spanish extraction program. He loved music, he sang in the ward choir. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo.Survivors include two sons, Reginald (Linda) Saxton, of Ft. Worth, Texas; Richard (Annie) Saxton, of Boise, Idaho; two step-sons, Tom W. (Luella) Judd, of Coalville, Utah; Gary B. (Kathryn) Judd, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a son-in-law, Clinton Dillree, of Henefer, Utah; 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Lavina Hamilton and Mildred Ball Judd and a step-daughter Anna Deane Judd Dillree.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview 7th Ward Chapel, 150 West 1600 South in Orem. Friends may call Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem and also Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Tooele Cemetery.
