Colonel John Livingston, 91, died Wednesday, February 19, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born February 16, 1906 in Norman, Missouri, to Archibald and Clara Greig Livingston. Married Marie V. Stovesand, September 18, 1929 in St. Louis, Illinois.Colonel Livingston served in the Corp of Engineers, United States Army. He was commissioned as 2nd Lt. in 1928. Entered active duty in 1940. Integrated in regular Army in 1947. After 33 years of active duty, he retired in 1961. He served in 17 campaigns and received 21 awards and decorations.

He was an active member of Mt. Olympus Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities there. Member of Argenta Lodge #3 F&AM, both the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies. Life member of the NRA, National Sojourners. He received his 33 Degree in the American Lodge in Germany. Member of Red Cross of Constantine, The Mayflower Society, a charter member of the Utah Huguenot Society, Dames and Barons of Runnyemede, Magna Charta Society, Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, 1976 State President of the Sons of the American Revolution.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan L. Pickering; granddaughter, Leslie Majors-Barker, Salt Lake City; grandson, Stephen D.; great-grandson, Jake, both Manchester, MO; two brothers, Archibald (Alice Lee), Cedar Hill, MO; Robert G. (LaDona) Livingston, Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers-in-law, Robert J. (Alene) Stovesand, Cedar Hill, MO; Vida Stovesand, Cedar Hill, MO; Mildred Stovesand, Imperial MO; numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Olympus Presbyterian Church, 3280 East 3900 South, Monday, Feb 24, 1 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
