Ward George Swindle, 80, died Jan. 31, 1997 at the University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City.

Ward was born June 30, 1916 in Monroe, Utah to Joseph Albert and Luie Etta Hodges Swindle. He married Lois Christensen October 16, 1948. Ward graduated from South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah where he was on the basketball team. He attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.He served proudly in the U.S. Army medical corp during World War II serving in England and at the Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ward was a craftsman, when it came to laying formica, which he did most of his working years. He loved the out of doors, especially hunting and gardening. He took great pride in his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.

Ward is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was a very caring and loving person. Ward was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois; his parents; his sister, Norma S. Mortensen; and his brothers, Dan J, Dwight A. and Brose H. Swindle.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 1997 at 10 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Friends and family may call at the mortuary Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.

Interment, Monroe City Cemetery with graveside services Monday, Feb. 3, 1997 at 3 p.m.
