Viola Stout Sweeney, born October 14, 1902, in Holladay, Utah, to Lavona North Stout and William Hooper Stout, died March 16, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Married William Patrick Sweeney in 1926 in St. George, Utah. He preceded her in death in 1947. Employed by Intermountain Theaters in Salt Lake City from 1947 to 1972.Survived by daughters, Margaret Sweeney Bernstrom and Anne Reynolds and sons, Richard Stout Sweeney (Helen) and Tyrus Patrick Sweeney (Leila), and son-in-law, Ray Reynolds; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Weston Stout (Mary). Preceded in death by daughter, Janet Sweeney Demman; son, Paul William Sweeney; sisters, Ada, Alta, Dean, Lillie, Louise; brother, Glen; and granddaughter, Lisa.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 20, 1997 at 3 p.m. in Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane (enter 2000 E. 4800 So.).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests gifts to the American Cancer Society; the Humane Society.
