Elsa Meta Rahlfs, 89, passed away March 21, 1997 in Holladay, Utah.
Born Dec. 31, 1907 in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany to Emil Ernst and Helene Milda Oettel. Married Henry Rahlfs in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 4, 1936. He died April 7, 1961.She has been an active member of the LDS Church, and has been a visiting teacher many years. Has been everyone's Grandma in the wards she has lived in. During World War II she and her husband, Henry, sent food and care packages to Germany and kept 18 family members alive. She has taken care of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many others.
Her hobbies were reading, sewing, needlework and listening to music.
Survived by daughter, Helen R. (Gayle B.) Anderson, Sandy; grandchildren, Tami Anderson, West Valley City; Blaine Anderson, Sandy; S. Janae Wilson, Sandy; and her fiance, Kenneth W. Morales; great-grandchildren, Jacob Blaine Wilson, Dylan Glen Wilson, Sierra Hanna Morales, all of Sandy; sister, Gertrude Helen Pfueller, Chemnitz, Germany. Preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Anna Krell and Frieda Elsa Weber.
Funeral services Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at 1 p.m. at the Sandy 13th Ward Chapel, 586 East 8400 South. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Wed. 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the church.
