Anna "Maxine" Gilbert, 81, of Montrose, Colorado died Wednesday morning, March 5, 1997 at Valley Manor Care Center, Montrose Colo.

Born September 21, 1915 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Elza E. Wooten and Martha E. Hudson. Spent her childhood in Trinidad, Colorado. Resident of Montrose since 1937, coming from Mantor, Kansas. Owner/operator of the "Day's Cleaners" in Montrose. Married Howard Moon, divorced. Married Earl Day who died in 1971. Married Max Gilbert on February 25, 1972 in Elko, Nevada. A member of Montrose Christian Church, Montrose, Colo. She enjoyed golfing and her bowling leagues, along with fishing. Her main focus in life was her family.Survived by her husband; daughters, Mary Ellen Coffee, Albubuerque, New Mexico; Verna Pearl Cater, Canon City, Colorado; four stepchildren; sister Dorothy Jane Gould, Montrose, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 9, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Minister Lloyd McMillian. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 1997 at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Grand View Cemetery, Montrose, Colorado.
