Charles T. Reeder, 84, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 28, 1997 of causes incident to age.

He was born on January 10, 1913 in Appleton City, Missouri, the son of George Daniel and Bridget Agnes Reeder. He spent his youth attending school and working at various jobs in that area. In 1937, Charles came to Idaho and worked in Hailey and in Sun Valley. it was at this time that he began taking flying lessons. In 1939 he met Ione Jarvis, who was also working in Sun Valley. They were married April 29, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Soon after their marriage they moved to Twin Falls and began their family and established Reeder Flying Service. Since that time, Charles Reeder has been established as a pioneer of Aviation in the West. Reeder Flying Service became an early leader in aerial application of chemicals for agriculture, aerial fire fighting and helicopter operations. He operated aircraft as far away as Alaska, Gulf of Mexico and Nova Scotia. In 1983, he sold his business to his sons, Dick and John, who continue with the business to this date. Besides his love of aviation, he loved his family and even though he was a quiet and very private man, he has been a great and generous friend to many people and a hero we will all greatly miss.He is survived by his wife, Ione, of Twin Falls; three sons, Charles Richard Reeder; John W.

(Judie) Reeder, both of Twin Falls; and Robert T. (Kathy) Reeder of Ketchum and two daughters, Mary (Robert) Brady of Bountiful, Utah; and Barbara (Preston) Cutler of Sandy, Utah. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and one sister, Nora Morrow of Mesa, Arizona.

Funeral services for Mr. Reeder will be held Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at 1 p.m. at the LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 667 Harrison St., Twin Falls. Friends may call at White Mortuary from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9:45-10:45 on Wednesday. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
