Former funeral director and LDS Church leader Milton W. Russon, 78, died April 10, 1997, in Bountiful.

Mr. Russon was the founder and and co-owner of Russon Brothers Mortuaries of Salt Lake City and Bountiful. His LDS Church service included mission president of the Southern Australia Mission, president of the Val Verda Stake, regional representative and president of the New Zealand Temple.He served on the board of directors and as vice president of the Utah Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, director of the Salt Lake Exchange Club, charter member and past president of the Bountiful Sertoma Club, director in the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce and currently chaplain of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, April 14, in the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 S. 500 West. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. before the funeral Monday. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
