Abel Rollins Hepworth, 28, passed away Monday, April 14, 1997, at University of Utah Medical Center, of complications following surgery.
He was born February 17, 1969 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Glen and Carolyn Hepworth. He married Susan Gay Hunsaker on July 27, 1991 in the Salt Lake Temple. Abel attended school in Pueblo, Colorado where he was active in drama, debate, music, theater, as well as serving on the student council. He was a gifted athlete participating in football and track. Abel served a mission in the Seattle area, followed by schooling at Utah Valley Community College, and Utah State University. At the time of his death he was employed by Logan City School District, as a computer network specialist.Abel was a loving and attentive husband, and took a great deal of joy in raising his son, Alex. He enjoyed hiking, snow skiing, participating in all sports, and especially liked working with computers.
Abel is survived by his wife, Susan, and son, Alex; his parents, Glen and Carolyn Hepworth, Pueblo; five brothers: Corey (Penny), Colorado Springs; Dale (Laura), Birmingham, Alabama; Aaron (Luanne), Farmington, New Mexico; Adam (Judy), Phoenix; Nathan (Lisa), Pueblo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, at 12 noon at the Logan South Stake Center, 344 West 700 So., with Bishop Rick Wallace conducting. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral, at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
