Jon Carter, formerly of "Jon and Dan" fame, will return to the radio April 23 on KRSP (FM-103.5) after a five-month absence.

Carter will be doing a solo weekday morning show, 5:30-10 a.m. on the "Arrow" in a switch that puts the disc jockey back on the same station where he launched his Salt Lake radio career from 1980-89."It's like a homecoming," Carter said. "I'll be coming back where I belong."

Carter was fired from KUBL in November. He has been off the air because of a non-compete clause in his contract that expires April 23.

"I'm not here to change the Arrow," Carter said of its music-intensive format. "I'm here to add to it."

Carter will return with some of his most famous characters - "Mr. Twister," "Paul Harmster" and "Fabulo."

He replaces Pat Gray on the KRSP morning show. Andrew Peters will continue to provide morning news.

When Carter left FM-93.3 last fall, it broke up the "Jon and Dan" show, the state's longest-running radio morning show team.
