Former President George Bush admits to a waning interest in politics, but he hopes today's youths don't share that feeling.
"My political days are over," the former president said.Bush added that he is troubled by the "incivility and ugliness that abounds in Washington today." Still, he said politics remains a noble calling.
"I don't want to see young people turned off by politics," he said.
Bush made the comments Tuesday at the Virginia Forum for Excellence, where he promoted next week's summit on community service. Bush plans to join President Clinton, former President Gerald Ford and retired Army Gen. Colin Powell at the April 27-29 meeting in Philadelphia.
