Jack Klugman's ex-girlfriend says he treated her like a racehorse and put her out to pasture after their 18-year relationship ended. Still, a judge says she can't sue him for emotional distress.
Barbara Neugass sued the 73-year-old actor in February, saying she helped raise his children and lived with him like they were married until the 1992 split. She wants half his property, monthly payments and other damages.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kurt Lewin on Wednesday threw out most of her 12 claims, including intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
Without that claim, Neugass' chances of collecting punitive damages are lowered, but her attorneys said that a fraud claim could still yield damages.
The star of "The Odd Couple" and "Quincy" TV series has said he had no reason to support Neugass after they broke up.
