Lula J. Olsen, 75, returned to her Heavenly Father early Thursday morning, surrounded by her family, and is now with her loving husband, Rex (who passed away only 20 days ago).

She was born in Moroni, Utah, May 7, 1922 to James Vernile and Bertha Sorensen Jensen. She married Rex T. Olsen in Ephraim, Utah on June 11, 1938. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a member of the 4th Ward she served as a Relief Society President, Visiting Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and as the Junior Sunday School Coordinator for many years.She worked very hard all of her life in caring for her family and loved ones and she was loved by all who knew her, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Lula is survived by her daughter, Edna Lou Olsen Neilson (Jimmy David Neilson) Spanish Fork; Rex Don (Roleen) Olsen, Richfield, Utah; Bert H. (Carol) Olsen, Magna, Utah; Ted A. (Shauna) Olsen, American Fork; one son preceded her in death, Boyd J. Olsen. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and brothers and sisters, Floyd and Dean Jensen, Moroni; Boyce Jensen, Salt Lake City; Ada Carlson, Mt. Pleasant; Neva Larsen, St. George; Lillis Kellett and Maurine Blackburn, Moroni.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 6th Ward Chapel (49 So. State). Friends and family may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home (96 No. 100 West, Mt. Pleasant), Saturday, May 31, 1997 from 9-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Utah Alzheimer's Assoc. (455 East 400 So. #208, SLC, Utah 84111).
