Dr. John Irving Hansen, 100-years-old, died June 12, 1997.
Born to John Hansen, Jr. and Marina Nichols Hansen on October 23, 1896 in Riverton, Utah.He married Nellie Collingham on July 6, 1946 in Denver, Colorado. Doc was educated in Utah and California and was in the first graduating class of the Jordan High School. He attended the University of Utah and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He practiced for 47 years in Salt Lake City and was a veteran of World War I. Doc was an avid fly fisherman, enjoyed hunting and gardening; he had pruned his fruit trees and planted both his vegetable and flower garden this spring.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; brother, Wiley; niece, Barbara E. Shomaker; nephew, J.J. Sorensen, Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law, Hazel Warner; stepdaughter, Shirlee Robinson. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary H. Egbert and Lola Sorensen.
We are grateful to have had this remarkable, kind, sweet gentleman for such a long time.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 16, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton City Cemetery, 13200 South 1500 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
